EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Christopher has been the Creative Director and Executive Producer of a number of charity projects.
THE PRINCE'S TRUST
CRISIS AT CHRISTMAS
Through his work running Masterclasses in Filmmaking for The Prince’s Trust, Christopher was introduced to a number of disadvantaged young people who all had ambitions in the film industry but lacked any formal training and education. Therefore, realistically, and regrettably, these young people were unlikely to be able to find entry-level work in the UK Film Industry, regardless of how talented they were. Consequently, Christopher decided to produce a feature film project to combine 20 of these young people with a hand-picked professional crew, ensuring that each one was mentored by a professional crew member in order to provide these young people with industry-recognised credits, as well as hands-on training. He independently raised the finance for this project so as not to call on the financial resources of the charity and also involved a number of industry connections in order to maximise the employment opportunities for the participants.
As a result of this project, 14 of the 20 young people leveraged their experiences gained on this project to secure their first paid work in the film industry.
Christopher also received a personal commendation from HRH Prince Charles for all his efforts.
Christopher wrote and directed a charity commercial for Crisis, which employed almost all cast from the homeless community.
As part of the production for this project, Christopher managed to secure £2.5 million of airtime over Christmas, which resulted in the highest number of people seeking shelter in the Crisis at Christmas Shelters.
Christopher has been a visiting lecturer and held a wide variety of workshops on filmmaking, acting to camera and drama directing at a variety of universities, film and drama schools including The University of Bournemouth, The University of Bedfordshire, LAMDA, The Actor's Temple, The Actor's Centre, Central London School of Dramatic Art, The Arts Institute, International School of Screen Acting, Mountview and IDSA.
